Xavier’s life-long passion for sailing and his continuous learning and teaching journey on the water started on the French Côte d’Azur where he learned to sail on Optimists and windsurfers.
As an adolescent, Xavier became a windsurfing and dinghy instructor on International 420 Dinghies and Hobie 14s and 16s.
Xavier moved to Sydney in 2000 and has been a member of Manly Yacht Club ever since, competing in yacht racing on the magnificent Sydney Harbour as well as up and down the Australian Eastern coast with Manly Yacht Club, Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and Middle Harbour Yacht Club.
Xavier reached the pinnacle of offshore yacht racing when he participated in the successful Sydney to Hobart campaign with Manly Sailing in 2014.
Xavier is a qualified Australian Sailing keel boat instructor, International Yacht Training (IYT) recreational power and sail instructor, and he holds a Master 24 metres near coastal AMSA qualification.
